While Pestilence had a knack for picking off smaller creatures with Regeneration back in the day, if you had a large enough regenerator or a creature with Protection from Black, it could circumvent the trigger

"Cat Pact" refers to a Rakdos control deck that uses the first three effects of Demonic Pact to control the board and get value, before giving it to your opponent with Harmless Offering (which features a cat in its artwork) to make them use the fourth effect, which reads "You lose the game." "Kona Combo" relies on playing Kona, Rescue Beastie and immediately tapping it down with one of the Station lands from Edge of Eternities in order to cheat Omniscience into play ahead of schedule
if you remember the "flip" cards of kami...these new double faced cards are just rip offs of that ability, designed to boost sales in WOTC sanctioned card sleeves, and extra "checklist" cards which im sure they will start selling on thier site, overall i agree 100%, they dropped the ball with this, if could have been so much more, but is nothing more then a rehashed "flip" thats been geared toward product sales
Haze Frog and his much more reasonably-costed Spore Frog are also key players in this deck
